Begin your artistic journey into the world of jewelry making. One-on-one private tutoring or small classes assure the special attention you need to explore your creative potential.

Come learn from German goldsmith Birgit Kupke-Peyla in her studio located in Monterey County. Workshops are intensive, hands-on, individualized, and limited to four students. The studio setting and small number of students guarantee a unique and effective environment for learning, as well as tailored instruction.
Weekly studio classes are offered in jewelry fabrication. Instructions accommodate all levels of ability & interest. Both beginners and experienced students are welcome!

Cuff Bracelet Workshop - 3 Days - $575

The main focus of this workshop is the creation of a cuff bracelet by employing carving, rollerprinting, forming & soldering. Tools are supplied. If you would like to bring Bi-metal to work with please ask for size requirements. Materials can be ordered in bulk. Fri-Sun 10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm January 7-9, 2011

12 Hr Class Package - $335

Ongoing classes in  jewelry fabrication. Thursday afternoons from 2-5, evenings from 5-8, or Saturdays from 2-5. Classes are offered in 12hr packages, are on a drop-in basis, and limited to 4 students.  A reservation is necessary to secure a spot. Cancellations must be made 24 hrs in advance. Materials not included. Tools are supplied.  Thursday Afternoons 2pm-5pm Thursday Evenings 5pm-8pm Saturday Afternoons 2pm-5pm

Internships

Want a more comprehensive immersion into the field of jewelry fabrication? Come apprentice with German goldsmith Birgit Kupke-Peyla . The european tradition is to commit to work for a master to learn the trade from the ground up. You become an integral part of daily operations in the studio.

Recommended Tools and Materials:

• eye protection (required)
• tracing paper, pens, pencils
• design ideas or samples

It is not necessary to bring tools to the workshop unless you want to use your own. If you are planning on investing in tools we recommend doing so after the workshop. You will learn a lot about what you do and don’t need.
